Questions? We've got answers.

1.    Is travel to Cuba legal and safe?

Travel to Cuba is fully legal and extremely safe. Cuba is one of the safest countries in the world and crime against tourists is virtually unheard of. When you travel with us, we also ensure that your trip is fully compliant with all US federal travel regulations. We are licensed to provide travel services to Cuba, so leave the legal headaches to us!

2.    How should I book my flight?

Commercial airlines operate nonstop service to Havana, Cuba. Book a flight on your preferred US carrier and input your flight information into our digital travel form, which we will send to you prior to your trip. We will track flight delays automatically and be waiting for you at the airport when you land!

3.    Where can I get my travel visa?

All US flight carriers offer same-day purchase of the visa on your date of departure at your gate of departure. However, please confirm directly with your airline!

Alternatively, you may also purchase the visa in advance from Cuba Visa Services. It is a very simple process that does not require you to send in your passport or visit the Cuban embassy. Please visit their website for more information: https://www.cubavisaservices.com

4.    Who will be accompanying us on the trip?

Each large group will be divided into sub-groups, and each sub-group will be accompanied by a Her Campus representative, a local Cuban guide, and a Cuba Candela staff member.

5.    Where are we staying?

You will be staying in an oceanfront hotel in Playas del Este, located twenty minutes outside of Havana. Please note that the hotel is not located in Havana city. You'll get the best of both worlds, beach and city life!

6.    How much should I budget for personal spending?

We recommend that you bring about $100 per day. Your trip is all inclusive, but you may want to have cash to tip Cuban staff, buy souvenirs, alcoholic beverages, and other goodies. Remember that debit and credit cards will not work in Cuba, so it is better to bring more cash than needed, than to run out of cash.

7.    What activities will be offered?

We will be offering a well-balanced mix of classic Cuba, leisure time, and cultural immersion. To see a full plan of activities, download the trip itinerary above!
